Students from all over the state come to the Wildlife Safari to gain experience for school, as well as for possible future careers.  Job Shadowing allows students to work along side the Safari staff from most departments, including Carnivores, Ungulates, Village, Education, Horticulture, and Office.  Students assist with all daily chores and are involved with all activities and projects.  To be eligible for Job Shadow, we must have a school contract as well as an essay detailing why the student is interested in Shadowing at Wildlife Safari, what they hope to learn, future career plans, etc.  Appropriate behavior and willingness to work are expected from all participants in the Job Shadow program.  We hope to pass on our message of conservation, education and research to every student, as well as an understaning on how important parks and zoos are to protecting wildlife.

There is no cost for this program.

Please call the Education Department at (541) 679-6761 ext. 221 for more information.
