ARMED FORCES DAY |

On Armed Forces Day, May 17th, the Wildlife Safari will be honoring those in the Armed Forces. If you are in active duty, show your military ID and be admitted into our Drive-Thru Park for no charge. Teddy Bear Picnic |

Come join us at the Wildlife Safari for a “Teddy Bear Picnic” on Saturday, May 17th, 11:30 am-1:00 pm. Kids of all ages will be able to participate in fun activities such as making a bear paw print, making a bear a sack lunch and much more. There will be free prizes for everyone and our special guest “Smokey the Bear” will join us from 11:30-1:30. After children have prepared sack lunches for our bears, we will load up on the Safari Bus and deliver them right to the bears & watch them enjoy their picnic! The bus loads up at 1:00, so sign up in Guest Services by 12:45! There will be a special “Teddy Bear Check-up Station” where you can bring your beloved Teddy Bear, have it checked out, stitched if needing repair and presented with a “Certificate of Health.” There is no cost for the day. Donations of fresh fruit or cash donations will be accepted. Donated fruit will be used to pack sack lunches for the bears. "Aware of Bears" at Wildlife Safari |

The Wildlife Safari will be participating in Bear Awareness Week on May 11th thru 17th. The Wildlife Safari Carnivore Department will be scheduling Specialty Bear Feeds during the week for $10.00 per person. This is a great opportunity to see Claire, Michael, Russel, Max, Oso & Victor up close! The Bear Feeds will take place at 5:00 pm each evening. There is limited space, so make a reservation soon! All Specialty Feed participants will be entered in to a drawing to win an adorable Teddy Bear from our Gift Shop. Plan your drive-thru accordingly and take part in an interactive Keeper Talk in our Black Bear Area at 2:30 each day. Stop by Guest Services for all the details. During Bear Awareness Week all BEAR items will be 10% off in our Casbah Gift Shop. 10% of all donations taken for our bears during Bear Awareness Week will be donated to Wildlife SOS in India. Moms on Safari / Mothers Day 2008 |

Add a little adventure to Mothers Day this year. Take her on Safari! The Wildlife Safari would like to invite you to help us “Celebrate Mom’s” on Sunday, May 11th. Treat mom to a delightful brunch in our White Rhino Event Center overlooking our Gibbon Pond and beautiful lower village. Brunch will be prepared & served by Creative Catering. The menu entrée will be Roast Turkey and Ham with all the delicious trimmings and complete with a Pastry Bar. Brunch will be served from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, reservations required by Wednesday May 7th at noon. The cost of this delicious brunch is $14.95 per person, children 10 and younger $10.95. In addition to brunch, MOMS can go through our 600 acre park FREE, when accompanied by a paying adult. First 100 “Moms on Safari” receive a free carnation, provided by Parkside Flowers. DAY OF DISCOVERY |

The Twenty Fifth Annual Day of Discovery will be held at the Wildlife Safari on May 19th. This fun event is set to begin at 10:00 am. This day provides an opportunity for people with disabilites to learn about the size, texture, size and sounds of many different animals at Wildlife Safari. The cost is $2.00 per participant. One Staff member for every five participants will be admitted free of charge. All other staff will be admitted at the $2.00 rate. The cost will provide both drive-thru and village admissions. There will be educational displays and village presentations in Safari Village. A train ride will also be available (weather permitting) for $2.00 per person. |

International Culinary Experience at the Wildlife Safari |

The Winston Area Special Projects (WASP) would like to invite you to participate in an International Culinary Experience. This fun-filled event will be held at the Wildlife Safari on May 31st from 5:30 pm thru 9:00 pm. This culinary experience will feature food from France, Germany, Spain, Greece, Thailand, Argentina, Brazil, Morroco, The South Pacific and Egypt. This array of foods, prepared by Creative Catering, is sure to delight your palate. In addition to the amazing foods to taste, the Wildlife Safari Elephants will be ready to “Meet and Greet” you from 5:30-6:30, there will be a Maned Wolf Keeper Talk at 7:00 pm and Village animals will be roaming around with their keepers. A variety of various entertainment will also spice up the evening! Advanced tickets are $30.00 per person. Tickets at the door will be $40.00.
